As of October 1, 2021 G Adventuresโ€™ Vaccinated Tours Policy applies:  All travelers must meet the G Adventures requirements for joining their tours.  The majority of tours require travelers to be fully vaccinated and the full/final COVID-19 vaccination must be at least 14 days before the first day of the tour.  There are some tours and departures that are only โ€˜Travel-Readyโ€™ which means all travelers must be fully vaccinated or have a negative COVID-19 test within 96 hours before the first day of the tour.  Please, double check with the G Adventures Support Team about the requirements of your tour and departure date. ** Updated Vaccine Mandate Changes as of 16 December 2022 below** Travel with Confidence & Vaccinated Tours As we continue to see vaccine mandates shifting and countries evolving COVID-19 policies, we have continued to monitor and adjust our policies in line. Based on this, we will be making some adjustments to our Vaccinated Tours and Travel with Confidence policy in 2023. Tours departing on or after March 31, 2023 we will no longer be requiring all travellers to be vaccinated to travel with G Adventures. However, we still strongly recommend that all travellers are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to travelling. As per our existing policy, it is the travellers responsibility to ensure they are aware of and adhere to the regulations of the country they are visiting. Please remember to ensure that your travellers have adequate travel insurance to protect them should their travel plans change, this should include trip disruption and COVID-19 coverage. Our National Geographic Journeys, National Geographic Family Journeys and G Expedition will remain fully vaccinated for all departures . You can read more about these policies here: https://www.gadventures.com/travel-with-confidence/  Leading up to March 31, 2023 our tours will continue to be Vaccinated Tours and you can look for the Vaccinated Tours icon to indicate which departures are vaccinated and which will not require a vaccination as we move forward with this change. You can find more information on our Travel with Confidence landing page https://www.gadventures.com/travel-with-confidence/  or as well as on Sherpa.  Thank you for your continued support as we navigate these updates. ** Updated Vaccine Mandate Changes as of 16 December 2022 above**

Others

1. Please note that this tour combines with other G Adventures tours. As such, the staff and some travel companions on your tour may have previously been traveling together with G Adventures, prior to Day 1 of your tour. Likewise, some staff and travel companions may be continuing together on another G Adventures tour, after your trip concludes 2. An essential part of your safari is participation. The group is usually divided into small groups and given different tasks which change on a day to day basis, from kitchen duty group (helping in prepare meals and clean up afterwards), the packing group (sets up all tables and chairs outside) and the cleaning group (which cleans the truck by emptying the rubbish bin and brooming). it is all part of your adventure and when everyone puts in a little effort the trip will run smoothly. Your CEOs will do all the meal preparation, but we do ask the clients to help with the washing up. Team spirit is part of the fun! All camping equipment (with the exception of your sleeping bag and pillow) is supplied. We supply dome tents and assembly/disassembly takes only 5 minutes. All tents have built-in insect nets. Mattresses are also available, which are approximately 4cm thick, warm and comfortable. 3. Sleeping bags can not be rented on any of our Africa overland or safari trips 4. This is not a physically demanding journey; however, travelling can be difficult, with long drives and poor road conditions at times. Despite this, most clients feel that the diversity of the African landscape, countries, culture and wildlife are all well worth the experience. We use a comfortable and safe customized safari truck for the long drives. 5. It may be required to show a Yellow Fever certificate if you are traveling to South Africa from a Yellow Fever endemic country. 6. According to the WHO and CDC, there is no risk of yellow fever in Botswana. It is compulsory to show a valid Yellow Fever vaccination certificate if you are travelling to Botswana from a Yellow Fever endemic country, or have recently travelled to a Yellow Fever endemic country (with entry stamps in your passport), including the following countries (but not limited to): Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Republic of the Cote dโ€™Ivoire (Ivory Coast) Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea Zambia, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sรฃo Tomรฉ and Prรญncipe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela. **We advise all travelers to Botswana who are coming from one of the above countries, or who have visited them in the last 10 years, to be prepared with a Yellow Fever vaccination certificate or letter from your doctor with proof of vaccination. Yellow Fever inoculations need to be administered at least 10 days prior to your entry into the country. Border officials in Botswana have been strictly enforcing these requirements. Travelers without the correct documentation run the risk of being denied entry, and will not be able to continue with the tour. (Any additional travel expenses will be on your own account.) ** 7. MONEY EXCHANGE We strongly advise that you bring ZAR or USD from your home country or exchange money before the start of the tour, to avoid delays on tour. • Day 2 Day 2: Victoria Falls
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 2: Victoria Falls

Get close and personal with one of the largest waterfalls in the world on this free day in Victoria Falls. Feel the strength of the water splashing your skin on the observation deck as you take in the sound of tons of water thundering over the edge of the falls in the distance and make your day as relaxing or hair-raising as you like.

For the adventurous we recommend going whitewater rafting, taking a scenic helicopter flight over the falls (epic selfies anyone?), or taking the plunge (literally) while bungee jumping with Victoria Falls in sight. (Oh man... just thinking of that makes our heads spin and our palms sweat!) Not looking to turn your hair gray today? Either way the choice is yours, but remember youโ€™re here now so why not escape those comfort zones?
Victoria Falls is a great base to see both natural wonders and take part in some exciting activities. Get up close (and wet from the spray) to the awesome Victoria Falls, opt to raft the whitewater of the mighty Zambezi, or bungee jump (with Victoria Falls in sight).

      Optional Extras to chose from:
      - Victoria Falls Helicopter Ride - 15 Mins
      - Victoria Falls Helicopter Ride - 25min
      - Victoria Falls Whitewater Rafting
      - Zambezi River Sunset Cruise

Additional Notes: Want to do more with your tour? Pre-book any two of the following activities: Zambezi Whitewater Rafting, Victoria Falls Helicopter Ride, or the Zambezi River Sunset Cruise.

Any optional activities listed on this day can also be booked upon arrival in Victoria Falls.
  • Day 3 Day 3: Victoria Falls/Kasane (1B, 1L)
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 3: Victoria Falls/Kasane (1B, 1L)

Buckle those seat belts and as the mist from the falls leaves the air cross the border from Zimbabwe into Botswana. Waste no time and choose to take a wildlife viewing boat cruise along the fertile lands of the Chobe River, or choose to hop on a wildlife safari drive in an open safari vehicle in Chobe National Park (itโ€™s your best bet to see hippos, crocodiles, and elephants wallowing in the water). Then relax and unwind at camp with your group, telling stories, singing songs, and just enjoying one anotherโ€™s company in this serene country.
You will stay over just outside of the park near the town of Kasane. This afternoon, take an optional wildlife safari drive in the park or an afternoon sunset boat cruise along the Chobe River - itโ€™s your best opportunity to view hippos, crocodiles, and many elephants wallowing in the water.

You can pre-book the Chobe River Sunset Cruise on the checkout page, or through your Global Connection Officer or travel agent.

      Day 4: Kasane/Gweta (1B, 1L, 1D)

Rise early to the sounds of nature around you and travel south with your group to Gweta.

โ€œI bless the rains down in Africaaaaaโ€ ahh we can just hear it now... (and it has never sounded so good!) because surely someone is bound to play this song as you drive through the verdant lands between Kasane and Gweta. Turns out Toto knew what they were talking about because the rains in Africa are no joke. Rain brings life to the pans awakening the dormant fish and aquatic shrimps from the mud. The surrounding grasslands also teem with life and are home to many antelope, which attract a wide variety of predators. Keep your eyes focused as the world passes you by and then reward yourself with a group toast as you camp under the stars shining through the branches of ancient baobab trees.

      Meals Included:
      - Breakfast
      - Lunch
      - Dinner

      Transport:
      - Lando: Kasane to Gweta 07:00 Hr(s)

  • Day 5 Day 5: Gweta/Maun (1B, 1L)
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 5: Gweta/Maun (1B, 1L)

Wake up to the image of the sun rising behind huge baobab trees and watch as the light turns the landscape varying shades of pinks, oranges, and reds. You canโ€™t help but feel completely isolated from the rest of the world in the middle of nowhere... savour that moment. Then itโ€™s time to hit the road to Maun where the adventures continue! Set up camp, unwind with your friends or opt to take to the air and book a scenic flight over the Okavango Delta for a birdโ€™s-eye view of the fertile lands at your feet. Search for wildlife as you soar through the sky and feel the rush of excitement in your veins.
Book the Okavango Delta Flight extra on the checkout page, or through your Global Connection Officer or travel agent.

      Meals Included:
      - Breakfast
      - Lunch

      Transport:
      - Lando: Gweta to Maun 05:00 Hr(s)

Additional Notes: Please note: if you have pre-booked the Okavango Delta Flight, today is likely the day for this activity! Your CEO will give you final confirmation when it will take place, as it is subject to change.
  • Day 6 Day 6: Maun/Okavango Delta (1B, 1L, 1D)
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 6: Maun/Okavango Delta (1B, 1L, 1D)

Today is going to be busy, but fun! Travel to the Delta then dive right into some nature with a wildlife walk. The cool thing about being on foot is that you will get to learn about tracking the animals and gain insight into their movement patterns and behaviour more than if you were just in a vehicle.

Explore the Okavango delta in a traditional mokoro (dugout canoe) to do some birdwatching on the way to our basic bush camp for the evening. Set up camp, and simply unwind with a sundowner around the campfire. Cheers!

      Meals Included:
      - Breakfast
      - Lunch
      - Dinner

      Transport:
      - Safari vehicle: Maun to Okavango Delta 01:00 Hr(s)
      - Mokoro: Okavango Delta 01:00 - 02:00 Hr(s)

      Included Activities:
      - Okavango Delta Excursion

Additional Notes: Please note that there will be no shower tonight, as our camp is very basic in the wild - you will be compensated by the incredible landscape and wildlife!

Once we are in Maun, you can pick up any supplies and prepare for our excursion into the Okavango Delta. We recommend you buy a 5 litre bottle of water to take with you into the Delta; this should be sufficient to use for drinking and cleaning purposes.
  • Day 7 Day 7: Maun/Dโ€™Kar (1B, 1L, 1D)
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 7: Maun/Dโ€™Kar (1B, 1L, 1D)

Kiss the shores of the Okavango Delta goodbye and hop into a mokoro with your friends on the way back to Maun. Search for wildlife in the reeds along the river as you make your way back towards civilization. Zoom through the western part of Botswana to Dโ€™kar; the heart of the Kalahari. Catch a glimpse of how the local San Bushmen adapted to the Kalahari Desert on an optional bushman walk. They will teach you about wilderness survival skills in a place that seems uninhabitable.

Then while the day comes to an end, enjoy the warm hospitality of the San Bushmen as the group will be staying at the G Adventures-supported Dqae Qare San Lodge & Camp. The best part? You are making a difference in the lives of this community just by enjoying your time at camp. So sit back, allow yourself to become immersed in their history and culture, sit around the fire, and simply enjoy the moment (can you say best camping spot yet?)

      Day 8: Dโ€™Kar/Windhoek (1B, 1L)

Stretch those legs, wave farewell to the San People, and hop in the Lando headed for Windhoek. Laugh, reflect, and listen to each otherโ€™s stories as you cross the border into Namibia. Check another country off those travel lists and choose to grab one last meal with your travel fam before heading home.

Not ready to leave Africa just yet? (Yeah, we donโ€™t blame you) talk with your CEO about extending your adventure and get to know Namibia or beyond!
