Itinerary of your trip Cycling The Camino De Santiago

  • Day 1 Gijon To Cudillero
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Gijon To Cudillero

Setting out from Gijon we will take on a challenging and rewarding first day, much of which is along the beautiful Asturian coastline. We will pass through small hamlets and villages, many with traditional โ€˜horreoโ€™ (small granaries or barns raised on pillars). We stop for the night at one of Northern Spainโ€™s most picturesque fishing villages, Cudillero, where your Asturian local cider in the traditional La Sidreria will be well deserved at the end of a memorable day!

  • Day 2 Cudillero To Cueva
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Cudillero To Cueva

A far more easy going day with fewer hills and shorter climbs but the scenery remains outstanding and for much of the day we can see the Bay of Biscay glistening to our right. Our destination is a picture postcard fishing village where this area is famous for its fresh seafood and delicious traditional cider.

  • Day 3 Cueva To Foz
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Cueva To Foz

Another exceptional dayโ€™s ride along the coast to the lively town of Ribadeo. A fairly steady day on the saddle and again an opportunity to take in the crashing waves of the ocean and sea breeze. Before reaching our destination we cross the bridge of the Saints over the River Eo, entering Galicia before reaching Foz.

  • Day 4 Foz Rest Day
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Foz Rest Day

Rest Day and the chance to explore the srunning coatline of the area and perhaps the incredible fameous archway rock formations at Cathedralโ€™s Beach - Galiciaโ€™s second most visited site behind the โ€˜otherโ€™ cathedral.

  • Day 5 Foz To Abadin
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Foz To Abadin

As we start to head inland away from the coast the scenery and terrain becomes quite spectacular as we tackle some steeper climbs. This is the most challenging day of the tour but thereโ€™s a huge verity of scenery to be consumed in this province, from the sea, mountains, sleepy towns and forests all to be experienced first-hand. This area is sparsely populated and we pass through only one sizeable town all day.

  • Day 6 Abadin To Rabade
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Abadin To Rabade

The shortest day of the trip is by no means lacking as this section of the trip takes us through peaceful wetlands, charming stone vernacular and religious architecture typical for this region. Along the way we will pass through Vilalba which has origins dating back to the 13th century. Our rest stop is the small hamlet of Rabade.

  • Day 7 Rabade To Arzua
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Rabade To Arzua

Starting out the morning with a peddle over the arches of the impressive viaduct, we head uphill and youโ€™ll start feeling like a true pilgrim on wheels. After that weโ€™ll be mostly on a decline for the rest of the day. We will pass through forests and many tiny villages including Sobrado dos Monxes where we stop to break and explore the wonderful monastery

  • Day 8 Day 8: Arzua To Santiago De Compostela
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 8: Arzua To Santiago De Compostela

On our last day of riding we join the busy French way route at Arzua and head all the way into Santiago de Compostela. Joining growing numbers of pilgrims on this undulating journey, we naturally finish at the famous cathedral at Santiago de Compostela.
