Itinerary of your trip 9 Day Rockies Hiking And Camping Tour

  • Day 1 To The Mountains
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      To The Mountains

Meet your new adventure buddies as we pick you up from the Marriott Downtown Hotel at 2 pm and head 2 hours west into the heart of the Rocky Mountains. As we leave the grasslands behind and enter a rugged world of mountains and glaciers, we immerse ourselves in a week of adventure and exploration during your hiking and camping tour. As a group we set up camp in Banff National Park, go over a detailed orientation and learn to use the camping gear like a pro. After a delicious meal prepared by your guide we head out for a small night walk to a nearby waterfall or lake. As the sun sinks below the mountains and the stars come out we settle down for a relaxing night, sleeping in some of the freshest air on earth.

  • Day 2 Land Of Rock And Ice
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Land Of Rock And Ice

Wake up to the smell of coffee and a campfire before we enjoy a tasty breakfast and prepare for the first full day on your guided hiking tour. We head North to Jasper National Park and the Columbia Icefield, the largest sheet of ice in the Rockies!  We hike up to a pass that has an incredible birdโ€™s eye view of Athabasca Glacier where you can take some epic selfies for the โ€™Gram!

  • Day 3 Hidden Paradise
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Hidden Paradise

No need to  drive far today!  We stay close to camp a nd explore what we consider the ultimate gem of the Rockies.  This area is missed by almost 100 percent of people that travel to Banff National Park.  If only they knew what they were missing!

We hike up high, either under a big waterfall or above a shimmering lake.  Enjoy the views and the peace and quiet of the secret area!

  • Day 4 In Awe In Yoho
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      In Awe In Yoho

Today we pack up cmap bright and early and head through Lake Louise and Moraine Lake to Yoho National Park.  Yoho is in a deep valley and it seems like the mountains are right on top of you!  The views are so spectacular, you may just feel like you are in Awe.. which is what Yoho means in Cree!

Tonight we camp along the Kicking Horse River on the edge of Golden, a rustic mountain town in British Columbia.

  • Day 5 Kicked By The Horse
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Kicked By The Horse

Today you have the option to go rafting on the Kicking Horse River, or join your guide for a local hike in Yoho NP.

We highly recommend going rafting, since seeing the mountains from the deep gorge is really special.  Fun fact.. you are rafing on the same exact water that you saw fall down the waterfall yesterday.  It takes 16 hours to go from the falls to the place on the river where you are!

  • Day 6 Pioneers And Swiss Mountaineers
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Pioneers And Swiss Mountaineers

We take a trip over the Lake Louise for a bucket list hike to the furthest alpine tea house.  This area is rich in Swiss history and was pioneered by the Swiss mountain guides a century and a half ago.  What could be more fitting than having a Swiss fondue lunch while learning about the Swiss history in the area?

You will have time to photograph Lake Louise and take those infamous photos of the lake and giant glacier behind it!

  • Day 7 As Wild As It Gets!
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      As Wild As It Gets!

We add in a day trip to Glacier National Park to ensure that you get to xperience truly the best areas of the Rockies.  One little secret is that this is no longer the Rockies!  We are now in the Columbia Mountains, which collided with North America two hundred million years ago.  We hike deep into the alpine getting some incredible views.  Fun fact.. you are on the edge of the worldโ€™s only inland temperrate rainforest!

  • Day 8 Mountains Of Mountains
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Mountains Of Mountains

We pack up camp and head through Kootenay National Park to explore another region filled with jaw dropping mountains and some pretty incredible hikes.  After our hike we head to Banff and set up camp on the edge of town with views of iconic Sulphur Mountain.  After dinner we head for a soak in the local hot springs to rest our legs and pamper ourselves after all that hiking.

  • Day 9 Banff And Beyond!
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Banff And Beyond!

We head out bright and earrly to explore some of the many gems near Banff.  Expect to hike through some incredible alpine speckled with wildflowers and with views of the most amazing mountains on the continental divide hogging all your attention.

If you are on the 9 day tour, this is where you depart with options to hop on a shuttle to Calgary, Calgary Airport, or be dropped off at any hotel in Banff. We aim to have you in Banff by 5 pm, so you can catch any bus after that and should be able to be at Calgary Airport by 7:30 pm.
