Breakfast included on all mornings except day 1 Dinner included on all nights except day 11. Lunch is not included. Why? We believe in supporting the communities we visit. We stop of lunch along the way in the various communities to not only immerse ourselves in their culture and environment but to support tourism in the area. You are welcome to bring along a dry lunch. You should bring along your own snacks. All dietary needs are accommodated. However please note that we are in very isolated areas where food options are limited. Your guides are also the chefs. Food is considered โ€™camp gourmetโ€™.

Mixed Accommodation. Camping x 5 nights. Shared Hotel/Motel/Hostel/Dorm/Donga x 5 nights. Some sites have facilities - toilet & hot showers. Some sites do not have facilities. We have a private portable toilet and shower. Tent included - tent is per person. Itโ€™s a large tent with plenty of room for two people and baggage. Our tents are tall enough to stand up in, making it easier to change. They take an average of 10mins to set up. We recommend that guests work in teams of two to make this job easier and quiker. Your guides are always available to assist. Tent light & fan included. Air mattress included. not included: bedding, Bring your sheet, light blanket or sleeping bag + small pillow.

  • Day 1 Cairns To Hann River Roadhouse

      Cairns To Hann River Roadhouse

      Welcome to the Ultimate Cape York Tour.  The tour includes a tour of Cook Town, The Daintree, Cape Tribulation before returning to Cairns. It is an iconic Australian trip incorporating five days of adventure to the TIP and 5 days exploring on the way back to Cairns in modern 4WD vehicles. We visit lands of the Guugu Yimithirr People and Djabugay People, indigenous art, livestock stations, the Old Telegraph track, waterfalls and lots more.


      Day 1 of our tour from Cairns to Cape York will be filled with adventure and exploration as you begin your journey into the heart of Far North Queensland.

      First, you will be picked up from your accommodation in Cairns and taken on a scenic drive to the charming village of Kuranda, located in the lush rainforest just outside of Cairns. Here we will enjoy a quick shop in the market stalls and the option for morning tea and coffee.

      After exploring Kuranda, you will continue your journey into the outback, stopping at the small town of Lakeland for a break. From here, you will make your way to Laura, a small town famous for its ancient rock art.  The rock art here in Quinkan Country are listed by UNESCO as being among the top 10 sites in the world.  So taking the short albiet uphill climb to this site is well worth the effort.  

      From Laura, we start on the great Peninsular Development Road (PDR begins) We will follow this road all the way through to Weipa in a few days time, travesing the many corrugrations or gravel road and the few paved sections.

      As the sun begins to set, you will arrive at Hann River Roadhouse, where you will set up camp for the night. Here you can enjoy a delicious meal and relax under the stars, surrounded by the peaceful sounds of the Australian outback.

      Overall, Day 1 is a perfect introduction to the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Far North Queensland, and a great start to your adventure-filled journey to Cape York.

  • Day 2 Hann River Roadhouse To Coen

      Hann River Roadhouse To Coen

      Day 2 of your Cairns to Cape York tour promises to be an exciting and memorable adventure.


      After packing up camp at Hann River Roadhouse, youโ€™ll head further north towards the charming town of Coen. Along the way, you will pass through rugged landscapes, crossing rivers and navigating through scenic roads that will take your breath away.


      One of the highlights of the day will be a stop at the iconic and quirky "sexchange" hotel. This unique hotel has become a popular attraction in the area due to its hilarious and attention-grabbing name.


      After visiting the hotel and taking some fun photos, weโ€™ll set up camp for the night on the banks of the Coen River, where we will enjoy a lovely river swim and idyllic dinner setting.


      In the evening, you can relax around the campfire, soak up the stunning views and enjoy a delicious meal. 

  • Day 3 Coen To Weipa

      Coen To Weipa

      On Day 3 of your Cairns to Cape York tour, youโ€™ll continue your journey northward from Coen to Weipa, the largest town on the peninsula, this coastal town situated on the western side of Cape York Peninsula and is famous for itโ€™s bauxite mining.


      After packing up camp at our picturesque Coen River campsite, this leg of the journey will take you through some of the most remote and beautiful landscapes in Australia, making it a true adventure for nature lovers and thrill-seekers.


      As you travel through the rugged terrain, keep your eyes peeled for the abundance of wildlife that calls this area home, including kangaroos, wallabies, emus, and even crocodiles. 


      Upon arriving in Weipa, youโ€™ll have the opportunity to explore this charming town and its many attractions. 


      In the evening, you can set up camp and hopefully watch a glorious sunset over the Gulf of Carpentaria.


  • Day 4 Weipa To Bramwell Station

      Weipa To Bramwell Station

      Today, we pack up camp at Weipa and head back along the PDR to the junction of the Telegraph Road to Moreton Station.  Moreten Station hosts the Old Telegraph Track, a historic route that was once used to transmit telegraph messages from Queensland to the rest of the world.  Here, we can explore the old station and learn about its history, as well as visit the nearby graves of the telegraph linesmen who lost their lives in the line of duty.


      Afterward, we will make our way to Bramwell Station. Depending on the time we may pop down to visit the 4WD action at Palm Creek on the Old Telegraph Track or we may come back here first thing in the morning when there is likely to be more action.  The brave drivers here will need to navigate a steep descent into a rocky creek bed before making their way across the river. Itโ€™s a ton of entertainment watching these guys and gals throw their cars around and whilst we certainly donโ€™t take on this obstical ourselves we will thoroughly enjoy watching the entertainment.

  • Day 5 Bramwell Station To Punsand Bay/Roonga Point

      Bramwell Station To Punsand Bay/Roonga Point

      Day 5 of your Cairns to Cape York tour will be a true adventure as you continue your journey from Bramwell Station Tourist Park towards the northernmost point of the Australian continent.


      Weโ€™ll start off driving along the Old Telegraph Track towards Fruit Bat Falls. This beautiful waterfall is set in a pristine, natural setting surrounded by lush tropical vegetation. You can take a refreshing swim in the clear, cool waters of the falls, relax on the banks or simply enjoy the stunning scenery.


      Next we cross the Wenlock River, a picturesque waterway that is home to many species of fish and wildlife before we line up to cross the mighty Jardine River by ferry, one of the largest and most important rivers in Cape York.


      After the ferry crossing, you will reach the northernmost town on the Australian continent, Bamaga, where you can explore the local shops and restaurants. From Bamaga, you will head to your campsite at either Punsand Bay or Roonga Point (this decision will be made with regards to availablity and weather conditions at the time), both locations are scenic and we will visit both places during our stay up here but we will only set up camp at one location for a 2 night stay.  Here you will be able to enjoy the beautiful views and relax after a long day of driving and sightseeing.


      This day will be full of breathtaking scenery, wildlife and adventure, as you travel deeper into the heart of Cape York Peninsula.

  • Day 6 Cape York, Pajinka, The Tip

      Cape York, Pajinka, The Tip

      Day 6 is the day to experience the highlight of the trip - reaching the northernmost point of mainland Australia, Cape York!  We have made it to the TIP!


      After breakfast we will head to the tip of Cape York, Pajinka. The drive is breathtaking, with scenic views of the Gulf of Carpentaria and the Coral Sea and has a rainforest vibe before opening out onto a tropical beach scene.  Once we reach Pajinka, we will take a short hike to the northernmost point of the Australian continent. You will have the opportunity to take photos with the iconic signpost and immerse yourself in the spectacular views of the surrounding landscape.


      Afterwards we will visit the Croc Tent and explore the town of Seisia.  Formally known as Red Island Point, Seisia is a small coastal town known for itโ€™s fishing and charters.  Weโ€™ll explore the pier and area before returning to a wonderful sunset evening dinner.

  • Day 7 Elliot Falls To Cockatoo Creek

      Elliot Falls To Cockatoo Creek

      On Day 7, you will embark on an exciting adventure along the Old Telegraph Track. Youโ€™ll depart from the Cape York area and make your way to Elliot Falls via a portion of the Old Telegraph Track. Along the way, youโ€™ll have the opportunity to see some incredible scenery, including lush rainforests, river crossings, and rocky outcrops.


      Once you reach Elliot Falls, you can take a refreshing swim in the crystal clear waters and relax in the natural pools. Then, youโ€™ll continue on to your next destination, Cockatoo Creek, via the Old Telegraph Track. This is our chance to really experience the 4WD section that this track is known for.  Itโ€™s sure to be an adrenaline-fueled journey.


      At Cockatoo Creek, weโ€™ll contemplate how we go about crossing this in the morning. If we are lucky weโ€™ll see some others come into camp via the river crossing.  Weโ€™ll set up camp for the night and enjoy a delicious meal under the stars. Take in the peaceful surroundings and the sound of the flowing creek before heading to bed in your cozy tent.  This will feel like our most remote campsite location, we are truely off the beaten path here.

  • Day 8 Cockatoo Creek To Musgrave Station

      Cockatoo Creek To Musgrave Station

      On Day 8, you will have the opportunity to witness one of the most challenging and exciting tracks in the area - the Gunshot on the Old Telegraph Track. This challenging track is well known for its steep and sudden drops that require a lot of skill and courage to navigate through.  But first we have to navigate our way over Cockatoo Creek - Fun!


      After observing the Gunshot, you will continue your journey to Musgrave Station where you will camp for the night. Musgrave Station is a historic cattle station and offers a peaceful and relaxing environment to spend the night after the excitement of the Gunshot. You can take a stroll around the property, relax by the campfire, and enjoy the tranquility of the Australian outback.

  • Day 9 Musgrave Station To Cooktown

      Musgrave Station To Cooktown

      On Day 9, you will leave Musgrave Station and head to Cooktown, a small historic town located on the mouth of the Endeavour River. Cooktown has a rich history dating back to the arrival of Captain James Cook in 1770, and is surrounded by beautiful natural landscapes.


      You will have time to explore the town and its attractions.  A stroll along the broadwalk is very worthwhile.  Weโ€™ll leave Cooktown via the Grassy Hill lookout where we will see for miles from the lighthouse.


      Tonight we set up camp at the Lions Den Hotel, one of the quirkest hotels you will find in Australia.  Weโ€™ll be able to enjoy a cold drink or a pulled beer tonight with dinner.


  • Day 10 Bloomfield Track, Wujal Wujal Falls, Cape Tribulation

      Bloomfield Track, Wujal Wujal Falls, Cape Tribulation

      Today, youโ€™ll be exploring the breathtaking Bloomfield Track. This scenic drive offers a great mix of adventure and natural beauty as you wind through the rainforest, cross creeks and rivers and encounter some stunning waterfalls. Itโ€™s another 4WD enthusiasts track.


      Your first stop will be at Wujal Wujal Falls, where youโ€™ll take a short walk through the rainforest to reach the viewing platform. The falls cascade over a series of rock ledges, creating a beautiful and serene atmosphere.


      Next, youโ€™ll head to Cape Tribulation, where the rainforest meets the reef. Here, youโ€™ll enjoy a swim at Emmagen Creek and take in the breathtaking views from the lookout.


      No trip to Cape Tribulation is complete without a stop at the famous Daintree Ice Cream Company, where youโ€™ll sample tropical fruit flavors like black sapote, soursop, and jackfruit.


      We will be on the constant lookout for Cassowaryโ€™s in this area.  They are very elusive and hard to find but we will try our very best to observe one in the wild.


      In the evening, youโ€™ll camp at the beautiful beach of Cape Tribulation, surrounded by lush rainforest and the sound of the waves crashing on the shore. Enjoy a delicious dinner and a relaxing evening under the stars.

  • Day 11 Daintree River Cruise, Daintree Village, Return To Cairns

      Daintree River Cruise, Daintree Village, Return To Cairns

      On Day 11, you will start by taking a Daintree River Cruise, which is a relaxing way to explore the river and its surroundings. You will have the opportunity to see a variety of wildlife, including crocodiles, birds, and other creatures that live in the mangrove forests along the riverbanks.


      After the cruise, you will visit the Daintree village, where you can learn more about the history and culture of the region. The village is home to a number of local artists and craftsmen, and you can browse through their shops and galleries to find unique souvenirs and gifts.


      Finally, you will head back to Cairns, marking the end of your adventurous 11-day tour from Cairns to Cape York. You will have a lot of memories and experiences to cherish from this trip, from the stunning landscapes and wildlife to the friendly locals and rich cultural heritage of the region.
