Today is the highlight of your Casablanca desert tour to Erg Chigaga. You will wake up early to watch the sunrise from the top of the Erg Chigaga dunes, have breakfast in the middle of the dunes, go camel trekking, try sandboard, and learn how to make sand-baked bread. You can also go for a picnic lunch deeper in the Oasis. You will have the possibility to visit our nomad family and have a cup of tea with them to really connect with locals. By the end of the day, you will have a delicious dinner made with local ingredients in the dunes near the camp. Returning To Marrakech From Erg Chigaga

Returning to Marrakech from Erg Chigaga will begin with an early morning departure, witnessing a spectacular desert sunrise over the dunes. Another 95 km east crossing the dunes and the stony desert, and later across the now dried-up Lake Iriqui. Here you may well experience a mirage and unless it has been raining hard (which is rare and would mean the lake is impassable) we can assure you this “water” really is a figment of the imagination. Here you can search for fossils; some lying loosely around but most fixed firmly into the rock.

From Zguid at the edge of the desert, we drive north to Taznakht, famous for its Berber gelims and carpets. The scenery transitions from arid landscapes to the lush greenery of the High Atlas Mountains, offering a striking contrast. This day ends with your arrival at Marrakech, where you will spend the night.
