Is it 100% sure that I will be able to see Northern Lights?

It is very common, but it is not 100% sure. We must remember that this is a natural phenomenon, and nature will always have an unknown part that we still don't decipher. The probability of seeing Nothern Lights is always latent, that is why in this adventure we will look for them during the four nights.

How is the weather in this adventure?

Temperatures: - August to September Day: + 10 C and + 20 C / Night: up to 0 C. - October to November Day: 0 C and -20 C / Night: -30 C and -40 C. - December - March Day: -15 C to -30 C / Night: -30 C and -40 C. The hotel and most places have heating, there is also the possibility of renting winter clothes for every day of the experience.

How do I get to Yellowknife?

Yellowknife has an airport, generally flights from Mexico make a stopover in Vancouver or Calgary. Any of these options is excellent.

If you are Mexican, since December 2016 you do not need a visa to enter Canada as a tourist. However, you must process an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). If you have already processed visa and it is still valid, you can use it until it expires. It is very easy to process your eTA, to do so we recommend you read the following article of our blog. It will help you do it in a safe and reliable way.

Which is the hotel where I'm going to spend the nights?

Our adventure includes all accommodation in Yellowknife. We are using the Super 8 as our hotel, but it can be other similar or better option depending on the season and availability.

What currency do you recommend to take, where can I change?

Canadian dollars, are common, you can change in exchange offices within your city or when you arrive in Canada at the airport at the moment of your arriving.

What is not included in this experience?

Does not include flights, insurance, meals and dinners; we recommend you take at least 15 CAD for each meal, this way you will have many options where you can eat at.

If the experience is in groups, how large are the groups?

The groups may be of 2-30 people

If the experience includes meals, how are the dishes?

It includes a continental breakfast.

What happens if I travel alone? Is it possible?

It is possible, you only need to add the individual supplement option in the "Extras" section at the time of making your reservation and you'll have a private room. This extra is optional.

Which is the minimum age? Does the price change for minors?

The minimum age for this experience is 1 year old, minors must be accompanied and share a room with two responsible adults (18 years and older). See the "extras" section for the price per child. Children 12 years and older have regular rate. If only 1 adult is traveling alone, it is mandatory to add the private room extra + the child extra. If 2 or more adults are traveling, it is not necessary to add the private room extra, only the child extra.

If I arrive a day earlier, or I leave a day later, where can I stay?

We recommend you stay at the Super 8 hotel, which is very close to the airport and several points of interest. It will be the same hotel where you will spend the nights during the experience.

Within what time can I get there on day 1?

You need to book a flight that gets there between 9 am and 8 pm to get the included transfer; otherwise you will have to get a taxi.

Do I need some kind of special equipment? What kind of clothes do I need?

Due to the low temperatures, we recommend you to pack very warm clothing, optionally you can rent winter clothes, including a hat, gloves, jacket, pants and boots.

Within what schedule will the tour finish on the last day?

The last day is free so it adapts to your flight schedule; a driver will pick you up at the hotel between 10 am and 7 pm, and take you to the airport.

Where does the experience begin? Will you pick me at the airport or hotel?

A tour representative will pick you up at the Yellowknife Airport upon arrival.

Do I have free time during the activities?

Yes, depending on the activities for each day, you have some free time to eat, go shopping, etc.

What recommendations are there for free days?

You can wander around the place, go shopping, or go on an additional tour.

Within what schedule will the tour finish on the last day?

Which is the best month to see the Northern Lights?

The best months are from August to April, when the skies are clear.

What happens if I get sick or injured and can't continue?

We highly suggest getting a complete insurance that covers medical bills and cancelation. We will assist you in case of an emergency.

Which are the winter clothes sizes ?

snow jacket and pants (XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL) Winter boots (5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 & 14) American sizes.

Will there be phone coverage and/or Wifi?

You will have wifi at your accommodation, we suggest getting a local chip

Which is the voltage? Do I need an adaptor?

120 V, you don't need adaptor if your devices are from Mexico.

At what time will be depart for the aurora hunting tours?

The schedule varies according to the month. August: from 11:00pm. September, October, March and April: from 10:00pm. November, December, January and February: from 9:00pm. We suggest booking your arrival flight at 7:00pm or before, especially in Winter, when the flights get delayed or cancelled due to bad weather.

Is the tee pee experience guaranteed?

Due to bad weather, the Tee Pee experience may be changed to a roustic cabin where you can also see the northern lights. (this applies from Oct 15, 2020- Nov. 22, 2020)

Upon arrival at the airport, your guide will be waiting for you holding a sign with your name. Pick up at the airport is included from 10:00 am to 7:30 pm. The guide will transfer you to your hotel. The hotel is within walking distance of restaurants, banks and shops. You will have an informative meeting. You will also have time to try on winter clothes (optional in case of rental), to go shopping, and have dinner on your own.
Note: If you can't identify your guide upon arrival at the airport, please approach the information booth (inside the airport), where you can dial #27 to contact a tour representative that will help arrange your transfer.
