Tomorrow morning will be an early start for your first Tanzania safari experience, so use your first day to recuperate from a day of travel and soak up the sights and sounds of Africa.

Donโ€™t be afraid to ask your guide questions beforehand and tell them your needs and expectations. Decide your departure and return times together and discuss specific animals you want to look out for! The best thing about a private African safari? You donโ€™t have to be considerate of anyone. This trip is entirely your own.

  • Day 2 Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park

Today youโ€™ll be heading out to your first Tanzania national park: the magnificent Lake Manyara. Though one of the smaller national parks in the country, it still packs a punch. Expect to spot herds of elephants slowly trekking across the plains, vast troops of baboons in the thick forest canopy, and โ€“ if you are lucky! โ€“ perhaps even tree-climbing lions.

Youโ€™ll spend the day in your private 4ร—4 safari vehicle with your experienced safari guide leading the way. A mesmerizing variety of wildlife can be found around the huge soda lake, including buffalos, warthogs, giraffes, wildebeest, zebras, and plenty of pink flamingos. The shallow Hippo Pool is always a highlight and offers excellent opportunities for hippo sightings as well as spectacular views of the Rift Valley Escarpment.

Lake Manyara in Tanzania isnโ€™t just about epic game drives, however. Combine a full day of safari adventure with various activities from cultural tours to canopy walks and more!

Return to your Bouganvillea safari lodge around sunset and enjoy a delicious meal al fresco, listening to the quiet hum of the wilderness
