  • Day 1 Marrakech - Ouarzazate - Mhamid

      Marrakech - Ouarzazate - Mhamid

        After breakfast we will start our Morocco Camel Trek at your hotel in Marrakech, drive to Ouarzazate via the Tizi Nโ€™Tichka to 2260m. During the travel, we will enjoy the panoramic view of the High Atlas Mountains and we continue the Col Ait Saoune to arrive in the famous Draa Valley, before joining the small town of Mhamid; Here where we the camp install in the dunes of Ras Nโ€™khal. Road 7 hours and 1-hour walk for the first day.

  • Day 2 Mhamid - Sidi Naji

      We will head south and cross the Oued Draa and the palm grove of Ras Nkhal to reach a desert plateau. Later we admire the panorama before arriving in Sidi Naji, an old village in ruins, where we will take a picnic prepared by our cook. Another hourโ€™s walk in the afternoon to reach the beautiful dunes with the same name. Overnight in tents 5 hours of walking. Easy level camel trekking in Morocco Sahara desert.

      Once finish breakfast, we will head east across the dunes of Erg Ait Ounir and the trees of Tamaris. Sumptuous dessert landscapes await us during this stage. We will stop for lunch just before arriving at the pass, under the beautiful palm trees of Ras Nโ€™khal. 5 hours walk. Easy level.

      After breakfast our drive will be to Tamegroute, which is a religious center since the 11th century It has a history as an important center of learning and religion through its famous Sufi zawiya, historical center of the Nasiriyya Sufi order, one of the most influential โ€“ and at one time one of the largest โ€“ Sufi orders in the Islamic world. Tamegrouteโ€™s green pottery is also very well-known. The founders of the religious brotherhood Nasiriyya wanted to raise the status of the village of Tamegroute to that of a โ€œMedinaโ€, that is to say to make it a city. They assembled the merchants and craftsmen that they had brought from Fes, a city that enjoyed good relations with Tamegroute at the time. Today Tamegroute is a little village, but the pottery has become its main characteristic and the ancient techniques give the glaze infinite variations. We drive back along the valley of the Draa River, we go back centuries by visiting Tamnougalt Kasbah, it is situated on Draa River valley, some 95 km south of Ouarzazate. In berber Tamnougalt means โ€˜meeting pointโ€™ was possibly a garrison in the Saadian dynasty.
