Head out of the city with a day trip from Lisbon to some of Portugal’s most charming seaside villages, including Fátima, Batalha, Nazaré & Óbidos. Your guided day trip from Lisbon includes transport between cities and a local guide who will share the secrets and stories of each destination.

Your first stop from Lisbon will be Fátima, where you can visit the main shrine in Portugal – Santuário de Fátima. See the site where apparitions of the Virgin Mary are said to have appeared in 1917 and the cultural phenomenon around this miraculous event.

Next stop: Batalha! Together with your guide, you will tour the Mosteiro da Batalha, a convent classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This grandiose structure showcases some of the best gothic style architecture in Portugal and took nearly a century to construct!

From Batalha, head to the coast for a visit to Nazaré, a typical Portuguese fishing village. Relax and enjoy a Portuguese-style lunch while perched atop Sítio da Nazaré, an outcropping cliff above the village where you can get grandstand views of some of the biggest waves on record.

Wrap up your day trip from Lisbon with the medieval village of Óbidos, surrounded on all sides by ancient walls. Get lost in the narrow alleys, take a stroll around the castle, and enjoy this quaint Portuguese town before you head back to the city center of Lisbon at the conclusion of your day trip.

8:30 AM: Begin your day by walking to the Marquês de Pombal square. This is about a 10-minute walk from your Hotel.

    9:00 AM: Catch the first bus at Marquês de Pombal. Start with the Castle Line or Belém Line depending on your interests:

        Castle Line: Explore the historic neighborhoods of Alfama and the São Jorge Castle.

        Belém Line: Visit iconic sites like Jerónimos Monastery and the Tower of Belém.

    10:30 AM: Switch lines if desired at any of the connecting stops like Rossio or Cais do Sodré.

12:30 PM: Lunch in Belém

    12:30 PM: Hop off at Belém to enjoy a traditional Portuguese lunch. You could visit a local café for some Pastéis de Belém.

2:00 PM: Continue Bus Tour

    2:00 PM: After lunch, continue your bus tour. If you are on the Belém Line, you could explore more of Lisbon’s modern side or switch to the Oriente Line to see the Parque das Nações.

3:30 PM: Head to River Cruise

    3:30 PM: Hop off at Terreiro do Paço (Praça do Comércio). From here, walk to the Terminal Sul Sueste for your river cruise departure.

4:00 PM: River Cruise

    4:00 PM: Embark on the Gray Line river cruise at Terreiro do Paço. This cruise offers fantastic views of Lisbon’s waterfront and its iconic landmarks from the Tagus River.

    5:30 PM: End the cruise at your starting point or another stop along the river.

6:00 PM: Return to Hotel

    6:00 PM: You can either walk around the Praça do Comércio area for some evening sightseeing or head back to your hotel via metro or a short taxi ride.
