Itinerary of your trip 4-Day Desert Tour From Marrakech To Merzouga

  • Day 1 Boumalne Dades
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Boumalne Dades

Embark on a thrilling journey from Marrakech to the Merzouga desert, spanning four unforgettable days. We will greet you at your hotel or Riad around 08h00 AM, marking the beginning of our adventure. Our maiden voyage will be to the historic Kasbah Ait Ben Hadou. To reach this destination, we will traverse the Tizi Ntichka pass, meandering through the High Atlas Mountains and past the adobe Berber villages. Along the way, we will orchestrate several pauses for you to capture the picturesque scenery, stretch your limbs, or savor a cup of coffee. Post a brief interlude in Ouarzazate for lunch, our journey continues to the oasis of Skoura. This oasis, one of the largest in Moroccoโ€™s Sahara desert, is renowned for the impeccably restored Kasbah Amridil, a sight worth beholding. Accompany the local Casbah guide on a tour of the premises, gaining insights into the architectural marvels of the Sahara and the irrigation techniques employed in the nearby oases since medieval times. Next, we steer towards Boumalne Dades, navigating through the Valley of the Roses. This valley is celebrated for its Damascus Rose plantations and the local womenโ€™s cooperatives that distill rose water and craft rose-based cosmetic goods. Before we arrive at our lodge, we ascend to the apex of the Dades canyons for a fleeting visit. The day concludes with a delectable dinner and an overnight stay at your Dades Valley lodge, under the starlit Saharan sky.

  • Day 2 Merzouga
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Merzouga

Following a delightful breakfast, we embark on our journey, driving through the enchanting route of the 1001 Kasbahs, leading us to the oasis village of Tinghir. Here, you will be captivated by the serene ambiance of the Todgha River. Feel the call to stroll along the river banks, immersing yourself in the timeless charm of the Berber Villages and Kasbahs. This walk will lead you to the awe-inspiring landscapes of the towering cliffs of Todgha Gorges. After a morning rich in experiences, we navigate towards the Gorges for a well-deserved lunch. As the afternoon unfolds, our journey takes us to Erfoud, a town renowned for its bustling date market and the production of fossilized marble. Our next destination is the sacred town of Rissani, the cradle of the Alaouite dynasty that continues to rule Morocco. From here, our path leads us to Merzouga. Prepare for an exhilarating camel ride, allowing the ever-changing hues of the dunes and the breathtaking sunset to sweep you off your feet. As the day concludes, return to your Sahara Desert camp, where a magical Moroccan dinner awaits you under the starlit sky, next to a warming campfire. Relax and savor your dinner as local nomads fill the air with rhythmic drum beats, their music resonating with your soul. After this mesmerizing spectacle, settle in for a luxurious overnight stay under the desert stars.

  • Day 3 Ouarzazat
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Ouarzazat

Awaken before dawn to witness the sunโ€™s first rays painting the sky, then embark on a camel (or jeep) journey back to the quaint village of Merzouga. Here, your driver awaits, ready to guide you on a day brimming with exploration and wonder. Venture across the volcanic expanses of the Anti Atlas Mountainsโ€™ northeastern slopes, making your way to the hamlet of Nkob. This marks the start of your journey through the fabled Draa Valley. As you traverse the Valley, marvel at the myriad mud-brick settlements that dot the landscape. By mid-afternoon, youโ€™ll reach Agdz, a Berber word meaning โ€™resting placeโ€™. This town once served as a haven for ancient camel caravans journeying across North Africaโ€™s Sahara desert, from Marrakech to Timboctou. Your journey culminates in Ouarzazate, where youโ€™ll retire for the night in the comfort of your hotel. A day of awe-inspiring sights and unforgettable experiences draws to a close, leaving you with memories to cherish.

  • Day 4 Marrakesh
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Marrakesh

Following a hearty breakfast, weโ€™ll set off westward on a brief journey to uncover the allure of Berber hamlets nestled within the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. This site, one of Moroccoโ€™s most frequented, stands as a testament to the countryโ€™s traditional earthen clay architecture. Since 1987, it has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has served as the backdrop for numerous Hollywood blockbusters, including Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. Immerse yourself in a guided stroll through the village before we proceed to Telouet. This Kasbah, situated along the erstwhile caravan route that traversed the High Atlas Mountains from Marrakech to the Sahara desert, was erected by the former warlord โ€œElglouiโ€ in the late 19th century. From Telouet, our journey takes us across the High Atlas Mountains, culminating in Marrakech. This marks the conclusion of our services, leaving you with a treasure trove of memories.
