Itinerary of your trip 16-Day Gorilla Safari & Zanzibar: A Perfect Blend Of Adventu

  • Day 1 Kigali International Airport
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Kigali International Airport

Youโ€™ve been dreaming of your safari for so long and now itโ€™s finally about to begin. Youโ€™ll meet your guide who will tell you everything you need to know to get your safari started. Weโ€™re

as excited as you are to get your trip underway

  • Day 2 Volcanoes National Park
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Volcanoes National Park

If the majestic Virunga peaks of Volcanoes National Park look familiar as you approach them, thatโ€™s because they were once home to primatologist Dian Fossey, and the movie โ€™Gorillas in the Mistโ€™ was shot on location there. Mountain gorillas remain the parkโ€™s most keenly sought

inhabitants, but it also forms an important stronghold for the endangered golden monkey and for 16 bird species native to the Albertine Rift Valley. Guided day hikes onto the richly biodiverse volcanic slopes lead through towering bamboo thickets, dense tropical jungle and otherworldly high-altitude moorland. Spending time in the presence of mountain gorillas is a real privilege, so weโ€™re sure youโ€™ll enjoy trekking deep into the forest to find them. This is one of the most memorable experiences you can have while on safari

  • Day 3 Arusha
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Arusha

Busy Arusha is an essential part of safari life here in northern Tanzania and most travelers pass through at some stage. Whether youโ€™re on your way out on safari or here for a little longer, youโ€™ll catch a glimpse of streets filled with energy and color.

  • Day 4 Arusha National Park
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Arusha National Park

You never forget your first view of Arusha National Park, with Mt Meru โ€“ one of the Rift Valleyโ€™s most beautiful mountains โ€“ rising above it. Once you get to know it a little better, youโ€™ll also enjoy the wildlife โ€“ giraffe, zebra, buffalo and birdlife, with sightings of elephant and hippo possible too. Thereโ€™s also Ngurdoto Crater, which they sometimes call โ€˜Little Ngorongoroโ€™, such is its resemblance to the world-famous crater to the west. Scenery being the main attraction is a nice alternative to the more wildlife-focused parks elsewhere.

  • Day 5 Tarangire National Park
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Tarangire National Park

If youโ€™ve never been to Tarangire (and even if you have) youโ€™re in for a real treat. Tarangire is filled with giants โ€“ baobab trees all across the park, as well as elephants, lots of them. But thatโ€™s just the beginning. Of the big cats, youโ€™ll probably see lions, and cheetahs and leopards are around, too. And itโ€™s impossible to miss the wildebeest, giraffes, hippos, buffaloes and zebras. Your backdrop for all of this is one of the prettiest in northern Tanzania, with a memorable mix of river woodland, open plains and rolling hills. And some vantage points to take it all in.

  • Day 6 Central Serengeti National Park
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Central Serengeti National Park

When people dream of the Serengeti, itโ€™s probably the Central Serengeti theyโ€™re dreaming of. Thatโ€™s because youโ€™re in the perfect place to see all that the Serengeti has to offer, and this is the area of the park where wildlife is present in the biggest numbers. Itโ€™s also filled with acacia

trees and those Serengeti horizons that seem to go on forever. Temperatures are lovely and cool in Ngorongoro Highlands, which is perfect for exploring the forests, and seeing the wildlife (elephant, buffalo and maybe even leopard) and views.

  • Day 7 Ngorongoro Conservation Area
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Expect high levels of comfort at the Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge, which occupies a fantastic location overlooking the Ngorongoro Crater from on high. Rooms are large and well-appointed, and most have extraordinary views out over the crater. Watch the mist rise from the crater floor, the piercing white of the salt lake at midday, or the lengthening shadows as the day turns the corner towards sunset. A good restaurant with crater views from some tables, as well as a lively bar, round out a memorable package

  • Day 8 Lake Manyara National Park
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Lake Manyara National Park

Where the plains of northern Tanzania meet the Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara is a wonderful place to spend a safari day. Your highlights for the day might include getting up-close-and-personal with the elephants that made this park famous, lots of baboons, as well as one of few lion populations in Africa that spend much of their time in the trees. Between the forests at the foot of the escarpment and the lake that gives the park its name, enjoy rich birdlife and the chance of seeing predator ambush their prey.

  • Day 9 Zanzibar Island
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Zanzibar Island

When you arrive on Zanzibar Island, you know straightaway that this is a place like no other. This was an island made wealthy by its role in the spice trade, and the superb architecture and spice-filled markets are reminders of that time. Fine beaches and scenery are also found across the island.

      Day 11, Zanzibar Stone Town

Enjoy the architecture, spice smells, museums, Muslim call to prayer and powerful sense of history in Stone Town.

  • Day 10 Zanzibar Island
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Zanzibar Island

Youโ€™ll want to sit and soak up the stunning Indian Ocean views forever when you stay at Royal Zanzibar Beach Resort in the north of Zanzibar. The views are especially good from the restaurant, but youโ€™ll catch a cooling sea breeze all over the resort which has bars, a spa and massage center, and attractive rooms. The rooms showcase whitewashed walls and decor that highlights Zanzibarโ€™s African-Arab heritage. Swimming pools snake through the grounds.

  • Day 11 Departure
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Departure

Your safari in Tanzania will come to an end, bringing to a close your time in this remarkable country. Weโ€™re sure that you have had the most wonderful time.
