    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 1: Welcome To Salt Lake City

You land in Salt Lake City, the capital of the state of Utah. Situated at an altitude of over 1,300 meters, the city is picturesquely surrounded by the snow-capped peaks of the Wasatch mountain range. The Great Salt Lake in the northwest gave it its name. In 1847, the valley was settled by the Mormons, who moved across the country in search of a place to live peacefully and practice their religion. There are several attractions, such as Temple Square in the city center, where you can learn about the history of Salt Lake City. Drive to your hotel on your own and then put your feet up or explore the city on your own.

      Where to stay
Crystal Inn Hotel & Suites Salt Lake City
The Crystal Inn Hotel & Suites Salt Lake City is located in the heart of the city. Many sights are within walking distance. You will stay in comfortable rooms and can relax after your arrival. Notes
The driving distance is approx. 13 km.

Day 2: Grand Teton National Park

Hopefully you slept well. Your guide will be waiting for you and your fellow travelers in the hotel lobby at 8 am. Please leave your packed suitcases in your room. You will be given the first important information about the tour and then your journey through the beautiful national parks of the USA will begin. Todayโ€™s drive takes you past the Great Salt Lake to Idaho to the hidden ski area of Grand Targhee, where your first hike begins. A chairlift takes you up to the mountain ridge. Here you have fabulous views of the Teton mountain range and the Grand Teton National Park from the little-visited western side. You will get a first impression of the natural beauty that awaits you in the USA over the next few days. Your hotel is located either in the small Mormon village of Driggs or in Rexburg.

      Meals
Breakfast and a home-cooked packed lunch are included today.

      Accommodation

  • Day 3 Day 3: Yellowstone National Park
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 3: Yellowstone National Park

Today your destination is probably the most famous national park - Yellowstone National Park. On the way there, you can let the vastness of Idaho pass you by. We are often greeted by the large herds of animals that live here. Yellowstone National Park is the oldest national park in the USA and was opened back in 1872 to protect the 250 or so active geysers. The beauty here can hardly be described in words. The geothermal activity beneath the surface has created this dramatic collection of mountains, canyons, rivers, springs and geysers. At the beautiful Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, we hike along the south side on the Wapiti Trail. Enormous waterfalls cascade over the cliffs into the canyon and offer great photo opportunities. On the way to our hotel, we drive through the Hayden and Lamar Valleys, where we can see herds of buffalo, wolves and, with a bit of luck, bears.

      Meals
Breakfast and a home-cooked packed lunch are included today.

      Accommodation
      Alpine Motel Cooke City
The Alpine Motel Cooke City welcomes you north of Yellowstone National Park in the small town of the same name, Cooke City. Due to its remoteness, life is a little slower here and you may have to do without one or two amenities, but you can enjoy beautiful nature in the immediate vicinity. This simple motel has been in operation for over 80 years and boasts clean rooms and very hospitable owners.

      Notes
The driving distance is approx. 320 km. The hiking route covers approx. 7 km and 200 meters in altitude. The walking time is approx. 3-4 hours.
  • Day 4 Day 4: Another Day In Yellowstone National Park
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 4: Another Day In Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone National Park protects the worldโ€™s largest geothermal zone. First we visit the region near Mammoth Hot Springs, where we hike over the white rock deposits. Then you and your group will explore the upper and lower geyser basins at Old Faithful. Here comes the best of Yellowstone! Weโ€™ll spend most of the day hiking and exploring this fantastic landscape. Grand Prismatic Springs will impress you with intense colors of orange and blue, while other springs bubble, hiss and steam. We walk along wooden walkways alongside erupting geysers, and of course we donโ€™t miss the eruption of Old Faithful. In the past, workers actually used to lay their washing down here and let it be washed by the splashing water of the geyser. After these unforgettable impressions, we return to the hotel in Cooke City.

      Meals
Breakfast and a home-cooked packed lunch are included today.

      Accommodation

    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Day 5: Grand Teton National Park

The breathtaking beauty of the Grand Tetons is overwhelming. The national park borders Yellowstone National Park directly to the south. Geological shifts have created a wall of cliff-like rock towers that rise up to 2,000 meters from a lovely valley. There are not many landscapes that are as pristine and yet as impressive as this one. We hike along remote paths between the towering mountains and enjoy incredibly beautiful photo opportunities. Once you arrive at Jenny Lake, the ferry takes you across to the visitor center. This gives you another opportunity to enjoy the landscape from the boat. Then there is a little time to explore the lively western town of Jackson. Your hotel is located in the small cowboy town of Pinedale.

Today you can rest your feet and enjoy the landscape from the comfort of the minivan as we head south. We follow in the footsteps of the settlers who once crossed the country on foot in their covered wagons. In the 19th century, hundreds of thousands of people set off on the Oregon Trail, which was around 3,500 km long, in search of fertile land in the still unknown west of North America. It was the largest migration of peoples in the New World. The next stop on your journey is Glenwood Springs in the evening.

The scenery and the mostly unknown hiking trails are fantastically beautiful. Todayโ€™s hike takes you to the Maroon Bells, which adorn numerous postcards - and rightly so. These beautiful peaks are reflected in tranquil alpine lakes. As this is a wilderness area, no groups are allowed here, so your tour guide will explain the hike to you and the group and will be waiting for you at the destination. In the afternoon, you have time to explore Aspen at your leisure and on your own. Take a look at the famous boutiques or watch the hustle and bustle of the town over a coffee.
