    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Arrival

Flight from Germany to Rio de Janeiro. Arrival the next morning.

  • Day 2 Rio De Janeiro (F)
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Rio De Janeiro (F)

On arrival, you will be met at the airport by a transfer representative who will take you to your hotel, where you can take a breather and spend the first day at leisure.

With a dreamlike beauty that exceeds all expectations, Rio de Janeiro is a city that you have to see with your own eyes to believe the descriptions. Apart from the numerous morros (hills), Rio is also home to the largest urban rainforest in the world, which is now a strictly protected national park. From the city center, where the history of the Brazilian empire began, to the classic elegance of Copacabana and the contemporary sophistication of Ipanema and Leblon, to the ultra-modern Barra da Tijuca - Rio de Janeiro has many faces. This includes Rocinha, one of the largest favelas in the world, as well as Santa Teresa, where the historic streetcar still laboriously climbs the cobbled streets of the hilltop artistsโ€™ quarter.

  • Day 3 Full-Day Excursion Corcovado &Amp; Sugar Loaf Mountain With Lunch (F/M)
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Full-Day Excursion Corcovado &Amp; Sugar Loaf Mountain With Lunch (F/M)

This excursion is ideal for those who have a whole day to get to know the two most important sights in Rio. From the Cosme Velho district, a cogwheel train climbs the steep slopes of the Tijuca National Park to the summit of Corcovado (literally: "the hunchback"). The famous Cristo Redentor, undoubtedly one of the most famous and most visited monuments in the world, sits enthroned at a height of 710 meters. From the summit of the Corcovado you have a breathtaking view over the beaches of Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon and the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas. At the foot of the Corcovado is the Floresta da Tijuca forest area with countless streams and waterfalls, which was declared a national park in the early 1960s. After the descent through the forest, you will make a short photo stop at the Mรกrio Filho Stadium - the legendary Maracanรฃ - and the nearby Sambรณdromo, designed by star architect Oscar Niemeyer, which once a year becomes the stage for Brazilโ€™s largest and most colorful carnival. Included is a delicious lunch in a typical Brazilian restaurant. After lunch, you will get to know various sights in the center of Rio de Janeiro, such as the Catedral Metropolitana with its beautiful, large stained glass windows and the Aterro do Flamengo, a quiet, spacious park with lawns and flowering trees, which offers a fantastic view of Rio and the Sugar Loaf Mountain. The tour then continues through the historic Urca district towards Sugar Loaf Mountain. This is where the steep cable car ride to the 215 m high Morro da Urca begins. From this intermediate station, the cable car takes you up to the summit. From a height of 395 m, you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view over Rio de Janeiro and spectacular sunsets.

  • Day 4 Flight From Rio To Foz Do Iguaรงu (F)
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Flight From Rio To Foz Do Iguaรงu (F)

In the indigenous Guaranรญ language, "iguaรงu" means "big river" - a more fitting name would be hard to imagine. The Iguaรงu River rises in the Brazilian highlands not far from Curitiba and then flows 1,100 km to the west. On its journey, it takes in around 30 tributaries before finally reaching the plateau, where - shortly before it flows into the mighty Paranรก River - it plunges over an 80-metre-high cliff into untouched forest landscape with a loud roar. The Iguaรงu Falls are the most spectacular in all of South America: a total of 275 waterfalls thunder down a 3 km wide chasm, creating an eternal wall of spray in which countless rainbows shimmer. Iguaรงu is located in a tri-border area between Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay. On both sides of the Iguaรงu River are the twin national parks of Foz do Iguaรงu, which were established to ensure the preservation of this precious natural treasure. The Argentinian and Brazilian sides not only offer different perspectives of the falls, but also the opportunity to safely visit a real rainforest, home to over two thousand plant species, four hundred bird species, dozens of mammal species and countless insects and reptiles.

On this day, you will be picked up from your hotel in Rio de Janeiro and taken to the airport. You will then be transferred from the airport to your hotel in Foz do Iguaรงu. You can spend the rest of the day at leisure.

  • Day 5 Full-Day Excursion To The Argentine Waterfalls (Departing From Brazilian Hotels) (F)
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Full-Day Excursion To The Argentine Waterfalls (Departing From Brazilian Hotels) (F)

This extensive tour shows you the Argentinian side of the waterfalls from all angles and includes not only the upper paths and the famous "Devilโ€™s Gorge", but also the lower paths that wind their way through the thicket of the jungle.

  • Day 6 Half-Day Excursion To The Brazilian Waterfalls // Flight From Foz Do Iguaรงu To Cuiabรก (F/M/A)
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Half-Day Excursion To The Brazilian Waterfalls // Flight From Foz Do Iguaรงu To Cuiabรก (F/M/A)

The excursion begins at the Iguaรงu National Park Visitor Center with a drive through the lush subtropical vegetation of the park. You will then continue on foot, following a path that leads into the canyon to a viewpoint that offers a spectacular panoramic view of the waterfalls. A footpath takes you to the edge of the Devilโ€™s Throat - an awe-inspiring experience that brings you very close to the thundering masses of water. You then take a glass elevator up the rock face to see the upper waterfalls. Together, the Brazilian and Argentinian Iguaรงu National Parks are considered one of the most important remaining rainforest areas in South America and have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In the evening, you will be taken to the airport in Foz do Iguaรงu and start your journey to Cuiabรก. The capital of the state of Mato Grosso was founded in 1719 by gold prospectors and pioneers from Sรฃo Paulo, the so-called bandeirantes. Cuiabรก is not only the southern gateway to the Amazon region, but its location also makes it an ideal starting point for tours to the Pantanal or the Chapada dos Guimarรฃes National Park. Today, Cuiabรก is a bustling, fast-growing city with some excellent museums, and the fascinating juxtaposition of colonial-style villas and modern skyscrapers gives it a very special flair. You will spend the night in the Hotel Nacional Inn Cuiabรก before starting your journey into the Pantanal the next morning.

  • Day 10 Flight From Cuiabรก To Salvador Da Bahia (F)
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Flight From Cuiabรก To Salvador Da Bahia (F)

Brazilโ€™s first capital is located on a peninsula and overlooks the Bay of All Saints (Baรญa de Todos os Santos in Portuguese), to which the state owes its name: Bahia. For Brazilians, Bahia is synonymous with both a relaxed pace of life and a very special intensity of everything that characterizes Brazil: Color, music and religiosity. This is undoubtedly due to the fact that Salvador is the Brazilian city with the closest connection to Africa, a consequence of its former role as the countryโ€™s most important slave port. Eighty percent of the inhabitants have Afro-Brazilian ancestors and are very proud of their roots: Salvador is home to Brazilโ€™s best capoeira groups (a type of martial dance whose history dates back to the time of slavery) and the Afro-Brazilian Candomblรฉ religion is present on every street corner. The historic center of Salvador is called Pelourinho, which means "pillory" or "pillory", and is home to countless baroque churches and historic colonial-style buildings.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport. You will then be met in Salvador and taken to your hotel.

    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Guided City Walk Pelourinho (Starting From Hotel In Pelourinho) (F)

This historic city walk through the old town is an excellent opportunity to feel the unique energy of this magical city and its inhabitants. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985, the Pelourinho is located in the historic city center of Salvador and is considered not only an outstanding example of Brazilโ€™s colonial history, but also a symbol of the black movement in Bahia. The Pelourinho offers visitors a variety of churches, museums, artistsโ€™ studios, galleries, stores and restaurants. The Pelourinhoโ€™s main tourist attractions include the house of the world-famous writer Jorge Amado, the cultural center of the music group Olodum, the Sรฃo Francisco Church and the Catedral Basรญlica de Sรฃo Salvador, as well as the traditional bar "O Cravinho", where you can treat yourself to a caipirinha (not included). After a short stop for shopping, you are free to visit the Pierre Verger Gallery or the studio of Goya Lopes, a textile designer from Bahia who finds inspiration in the themes of Bahiaโ€™s Afro-Brazilian musical tradition. Then continue to the Elevador Lacerda, built in 1873, which connects the upper part of the city with the lower part and is an important means of transportation for tourists and locals alike. From there, you can enjoy a fantastic view over the Bay of All Saints and the Mercado Modelo and bring this cultural city walk to a relaxed close.
