  • Day 1 Day 1: New Delhi

      Day 1: New Delhi

      Arrive in Delhi, meet your Trugo representative and transfer to the hotel. Your adventure begins with an important group meeting at 6 pm. If you arrive into Delhi with time to spare, perhaps pay a visit to the World Heritage-listed Humayunโ€™s Tomb or the 12th-century Qutub Minar. As the former residence of royal families and British soldiers, the Red Fort plays a vital part in Delhiโ€™s history. Otherwise, donโ€™t forget to check out the great range of Urban Adventures if you have extra time in Delhi. 

  • Day 2 Day 2: Delhi - Agra (240 Km/ 4 Hrs)

      After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed to Agra. After arriving youโ€™ll visit the spectacular Taj Mahal. Ponder the beauty of this 17th-century masterpiece of white marble set amid beautiful formal gardens. Youโ€™ll learn more about its history as you explore the site with your local guide. You will also visit the nearby Agra Fort, a huge complex built originally as a military structure of red sandstone by Emperor Akbar in 1565.

      After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed to Jaipur. Enroute, visit Fatehpur Sikri. Often known as the abandoned city of the Mughal empire, it boasts of monuments built during the Mughal Era that leave viewers in awe! The Panch Mahal, the Buland Darwaza and Dargah of Sheikh Salim Chisti are a few of these wonders. Arrive at your hotel and check in. Rest of the day is at leisure to explore on your own.

  • Day 4 Day 4: Jaipur

      Day 4: Jaipur

      After an early breakfast, weโ€™ll head to the Amber Fort. Set on the Aravallis, this palace straddles 2 sepia tundra hills overlooking Maota lake. Ride up to this palace on an elephant as you pass through the ancient main gate through which the Maharajas of Jaipur used to make grand entrances. Then enjoy lunch with a Tandoor demonstration at a high end restaurant in Jaipur. Subsequently, visit the Turban museum. It is famous for housing the largest turban collection in the world. 

      Next, you will be taken on a tour of the Hawa Mahal, a pink five storied structure. With its octagonal and delicately honeycombed windows and ornate stones screens, it is an architectural wonder! Then visit the City Palace. Constructed by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, it showcases a unique blend of Rajput and Mughal architectural styles. Built by the same king, your next stop will be Jantar Mantar. Exhibiting architectural astronomical instruments, it is a very unique astronomical observatory. 

      For many, shopping is almost a prerequisite when planning a tour! To satisfy your shopaholic side, visit the Jaipur bazaars in the evening. Experience the local culture through the pulsing bazaars as you explore each street. You will have a wide variety of textiles, footwear, ready-made garments, antique jewels, artifacts, bandhani print, carpets, pottery, marble curios, et al at reasonable rates to choose from.

  • Day 5 Day 5: Jaipur- Nawalgarh - Mandawa (Approx. 240 Km/ 5 H- 35 Km, 50 Min)

      Today you will drive from Jaipur to Shekhawati region (approximately 5 hours). Mandawa is a remote town in the centre of the region, an old trading outpost between the Middle East and China. On arrival in Mandawa, check into our first Heritage Property stay of the trip.

  • Day 6 Day 6: Mandawa

      Enjoy a day of exploring this amazing town, which is often referred to as an outdoor museum. Mandawa is famous for its ornate havelis (private residences). Youโ€™ll notice that some are faithfully restored and others are crumbling. The havelis of this particular part of India are recognised around the country for their lavishly painted walls and art. Stay again in our Heritage Property tonight.

  • Day 7 Day 7: Mandawa- Bikaner (Approx. 250 Km/ 5 H)

      Travel deeper into the Thar Desert to the fortified town of Bikaner (approximately 5 hours). Bikaner was an important staging post on some of the great caravan routes, and thus houses a multitude of bazaars along with an impressive fort and palace.  We continue on to Junagarh Fort. Another beautiful Heritage stay tonight.

  • Day 8 Day 8: Bikaner - Jaisalmer (Approx. 390 Km/ 7 H)

      Today you will wind along a remote desert road to the yellow sandstone citadel of Jaisalmer (approximately 7 hours). Watch as it rears its head in the arid, flat desert like a scene from โ€™One Thousand and One Nightsโ€™. Explore the snaking alleyways of Jaisalmer which are filled with markets and intricately carved houses. Located on the banks of Gadisar Lake in the Mehar Bagh Garden is the Jaisalmer Folklore Museum, which is well worth a visit. Enjoy another Heritage Property stay tonight.

      Enjoy further time exploring the immense Jaisalmer fort today. Within the fort itself is a maze of houses, temples, shops and restaurants, not to mention some 3,000 permanent residents. Track down some dazzling Rajastani fabrics, marvel at the spectacular facades of the Patwa ki Haveli and Salim Singh-ki-Haveli. Or you may wish to simply wander the labyrinthine paths and soak up the atmosphere.

  • Day 10 Day 10: Thar Desert

      No trip to Jaisalmer is complete without a desert safari, so today youโ€™ll experience one of the main highlights of your adventure. Your camel safari (approximately 1 hour) out to the pristine sand dunes of the Thar Desert is an adventure youโ€™re not likely to forget. Visiting some small villages (dhanis) along your travels. Cap it off by camping out under the stars, falling asleep to the desert ambience in your comfortable permanent tent.

  • Day 11 Day 11: Jaisalmer - Jodhpur (Approx. 400 Km/ 6 H)

      Today you drive across the desert to discover Rajasthanโ€™s second-largest city, the frenetic Jodhpur (approximately 6 hours). Jodhpur abounds in antique shops and, according to many a traveller, has the best lassi in India. Itโ€™s also where the famous Jodhpur trousers originated. While you are here you will explore the colossal Mehrangarh Fort. A highlight of the fort is the expansive views from its ramparts. In your free time you can visit Indiaโ€™s last great palace, Umaid Bhawan Palace. The palace was built in the years between 1929 and 1944 and named for Maharaja Umaid Singhji. His successors still reside there.

  • Day 12 Day 12: Jodhpur - Ranakpur - Udaipur ( Approx. 162 Km/ 3 H- 150 Km/ 3 H)

      From Jodhpur you will travel through the beautiful hamlet of Ranakpur (approximately 3 hours). Ranakpur is the home of a host of beautifully carved white marble Jain temples. These staggering complex temples attract Jain pilgrims from all over India, making Ranakpur one of the most important pilgrimage destinations for Jains in India. From here you will continue on your journey to gorgeous Udaipur (approximately 3 hours).

  • Day 13 Day 13: Udaipur

      Day 13: Udaipur

      Udaipur or โ€œthe city of Sunriseโ€ , will welcome you into a warm embrace with Sahelion-ki-Bari (The Garden of Maids), a beautiful expanse of verdant greens, marble art and fountains. 

      Museum of Folk Arts is your next stop over which boasts of a rich collection of folk dresses, ornaments, puppets, masks, dolls, musical instruments, art and paintings.

      City Palace and Traditional Painting School are next in line. Built in granite and marble, City Palaceโ€™s architecture is a perfect blend of Medieval, European and Chinese styles. Intricate mirror-work, marble work, silver-work, murals, paintings and colored glass are awe-inspiring.

      Traditional Painting School has a rich collection of miniature paintings reflective of an era gone by.

      Wrap up your day with a boat ride on the picturesque Lake Pichola. The famous Lake Palace near the lake was the summer residence of former rulers.

  • Day 14 Day 14: Udaipur - Delhi

      Day 14: Udaipur - Delhi

      After a free morning, take a flight back to Delhi (approximately 1.5 hours, arriving at around 5.30 pm). Youโ€™ll be collected and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy an evening of free time. You can can continue to explore Delhi, arrange onward travel or simply relax and unwind. If you are staying longer, there is much to see. Raj Ghat is a monument that marks the spot where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated. It is now incorporated into the National Gandhi Museum. Hauz Khas Village is a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of downtown โ€“ itโ€™s a hip artistic enclave set amid an interesting historic site.

      Your trip comes to an end after breakfast this morning. You will be transferred to the airport for your onward journey.
