Egypt&#x27;s weather is dry. There&#x27;s not much rain, excepting winter, on the south of Cairo City. The average temperature varies between 15 º in winter, and  50º in the summer at the desert. At the Nile Delta zone, the average temperature is of  26º in the summer.

We will pick you up at the airport upon arrival the day your experience begins; your guide will be waiting for you at the airport to take you to your hotel.

There&#x27;s no mandatory medical request to enter the country; however, if you&#x27;re going to travel to Egypt it is recommended that you are up to date with the routine vaccinations, such as the the MMR vaccine, the vaccination against tetanus, the diphtheria, whopping cough, polio, and chicken pox vaccines.

The official currency of Egypt is the Egyptian Pound (£, LE), we recommend to take the change in Euros since in many places of Egypt they accept this currency; in case of not accepting it you can change to your arrival to the airport or in some hotels.

What is the minimum age required? Does the price vary?

The minimum age recommended for this experience is 5 years old. Although there is no minimum age for this experience, it is not recommended for children from 0 to 4 years old. All minors must be accompanied by 2 responsible adults (18+ years old) at all times and share a room. 
See the "Extras" section for the charge for minors up to 11 years of age at the time of travel. 
Children 12 years of age and older are charged at the regular rate.
The maximum recommended age for this experience for people in good physical condition is 65 years old. 
People over 65 years old can do this experience under their own responsibility.

You need to have a complete travel insurance that covers any inconvenient such as delayed or cancelled flights, as well as it is recommended to have an insurance for higher medical expenses in case there&#x27;s an emergency.

It is necessary to check directly with your country&#x27;s embassy to confirm if there are any visa requirements. This will depend on your nationality. It is also important that the passport has at least six months validity from the return of the trip.

You can pay for the visa upon arrival at the airport in Cairo and other ports of entry, but it is suggested to obtain the visa at the Egyptian Embassy closest to your place of residence to avoid mishaps. Both the hotels and the cruise ship are quite comfortable and have excellent service.
Cairo: Hotel Oasis Pyramids or similar to Hotel Swiss Inn.
Travel from Cairo to Aswan - Overnight on board the bus in a reclining seat   *Optional to take flight from Cairo to Aswan (with supplement, see extras section) to sleep in hotel in Aswan instead of the bus.
The cruise on the Nile River: MS Miriam Nile cruise (or similar).
Hurghada: Hotel Caves Resort or hotel complex similar to Samra Bay.
In the hotels the rooms are double or triple occupancy.
If 1 person travels without a companion, they share a double room with another travel companion.
If 2 people travel in the same reservation they have a private double room.
If 3 people travel in the same reservation, they have a triple private room.
Regarding the cruise, the cabin only has capacity for 2 people (most of the cabins are double, some cabins can have 1 additional bed but it is not guaranteed).

Travel insurance is compulsory on all of our tours and needs to cover personal accident & liability, medical expenses and repatriation, travel delay & abandonment. We also strongly recommend that you take out cover against cancellation and lost/stolen baggage. Personal medical insurance does not normally provide sufficient cover and is generally not suitable for travel on our tours. You will not be able to join your tour if you have not provided us with details of your insurance or if you arrive without cover in place (no refunds will be due in this event).

Will I have internet and / or phone coverage or Wifi?

It is recommended to purchase a SIM card upon arrival in Egypt to have cell phone coverage, you can buy it at the airport or ask the guide or representative to help you get it. In case you need to top up your cell phone you can do it with the help of the guide, who can easily transfer the amount you need. WiFi is usually open in the lodges; however, it is not always fast or expensive to purchase in hotels. Getting a signal or internet on cruise ships is often complicated.

Travelers can arrive anytime on day one. The tour includes a 24-hour airport meet & assists service from Cairo International Airport - your arrival and departure airport-hotel transfers and all other transfers. Please note, the check in time at the hotel is after 12:00 at noon

The tour covers most of the highlights in Egypt, which involve long journeys, a fair amount of walking, and overnight traveling.

We do sightseeing in the morning until late afternoon; travelers will have a free time in the evening.

What is the average price for the meals not included?

Accepted Answer

While in Egypt you will need sufficient funds to cover meals not included in the itinerary, drinks, snacks, souvenirs and personal expenses such as laundry. These should generally all be paid for in Egyptian Pounds. You may also need to pay for the tour Tipping Kitty and site Entrance Fees while you are in Egypt. Payments for these may be made to your tour guide in hard currency (USD, GBP, EUR) at the start of your tour.

It is difficult to recommend a level of personal spending money which will suit everyone as this can differ greatly, but as a guideline, we would suggest allowing USD 15-25 per person per day as a minimum. Allow more if you plan on doing lots of shopping, or buying alcoholic drinks.

What type of clothes do I need to take?

Most of your time in Egypt will be in a hot climate. However, at night, and especially in the deserts, the temperatures can drop quite dramatically. So you must pack for cool conditions. Formal dress (eg. suits & ties) is not required at the hotel restaurants. Long sleeves are recommended to protect from mosquitoes if you are on the felucca. Modesty rates highly in Egypt, especially for women, so to respect the local culture & people, please ensure all clothes are loose fitting and not revealing. Shorts (not hot-pants) are OK in tourist sites, as are T-shirts, but these should not show too much bare flesh (we suggest that your shoulders should remain covered). In the centre of Cairo, if you are visiting any mosques, legs and arms should be covered.

Other items: If you will be travelling on a felucca then we recommend bringing a light sleeping sheet or sleeping bag liner all year round for comfort, and a light sleeping bag in the winter months (November to February). We also recommend you bring a sun hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, a basic first aid kit, toiletries, small towel, money belt, small torch, camera & charger.

At what time is the check in and check out of the accommodation?

The check in is usually after 2 or 3 pm, this may vary from one place to another. If you get there before this schedule, we suggest leaving your luggage at reception and walking around the area until your room is ready.   Check out is usually at 12 pm, but this also may vary from one place to another. We suggest asking for this information on arrival at the accommodation. It is important to follow this schedule; otherwise, additional charges may apply (to be paid on destination, not included).

Should I tip the guides?

Many workers in Egypt are very poorly paid and depend on tips for their main income. Tipping is part of the culture in Egypt and requests for tips can be infuriatingly persistent. The tour representative in Egypt will collect $3 USD per day per person in advance on the first day of the tour to cover tipping for services provided during the tour regarding drivers, waiters, bell men/ porters, hotel staff etc. However the tips for the tour guides are excluded from this rate and are completely optional. If you decide to tip the tour guides, tips are usually between 5-10%  of according to the services.

Can I eat at another restaurant or buy souvenirs from other shops?

No; before the tour starts, the tour representative has to report to the local authorities the exact places that are going to be visited, as well as the restaurants where the tour stops. Therefore, the venues can&#x27;t be changed. However,  we will do our best to arrange this beforehand according to the passengers preferences. You can buy a souvenir or not in the shops that are visited, this is completely up to you.
