Itinerary of your trip South American Impressions

  • Day 1 Day 1: Santiago De Chile
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Day 1: Santiago De Chile

(Sunday) On arrival in Santiago de Chile, welcome by your local, German-speaking tour guide and transfer to your city hotel. In the afternoon, you will go on a half-day tour of the city of contrasts. Old colonial-style buildings and ultra-modern Plexiglas office towers stand side by side here. Looking at the trendy cafés and restaurants, you could sometimes be forgiven for thinking you were in a major European city - if it werenโ€™t for the ubiquitous Andes on the outskirts of the city. At the beginning of your tour, you will drive to the center of the city to the main street Alameda. Here you will find important old buildings, such as the government palace La Moneda or the church of San Francisco, which was built between 1572 and 1618. As you stroll through the main street, you will discover the remains of the capitalโ€™s aristocratic past. Continue to the Plaza de Armas, where the cathedral is located. The route then takes you to the Mercado Central, the main market for fish and seafood. You continue your tour at the Cerro San Cristóbal viewpoint. From here you have a fantastic panoramic view of Santiagoโ€™s seemingly endless sea of houses. A visit to Santiagoโ€™s modern residential areas and the business and shopping district of Providencia rounds off your visit to the capital. 2 nights in Santiago de Chile.

On the way downhill, you will see the "Puente del Inca", a work of art created by nature.
