Cycling From Brasov Area To Talisoara Village

Following breakfast, your journey begins as you depart Brasov, heading north towards Bod on a secondary route spanning 14 miles/23 km. The route encompasses picturesque locations such as San Petru, Bod, Feldioara/Marienburg, Haghig, Belini, and Aita Mare. From Feldioara, the cycling path traces the Olt River for an additional 38 km, leading to Miclosoara. Here, youโ€™ll have the opportunity to explore the old medieval castle of Count Kalnoky, situated in the oldest documented settlement of the region. Dating back to 1211 AD, Miclosoaraโ€™s castle served as a border fortress between the territory allocated to the Knights of the Teutonic Order and the rest of the Kingdom of Hungary.

Continuing the route for another 10 km brings you to the final destination for the day, Talisoara, where accommodation awaits in the beautifully restored Daniel Castle.

      Cycling From Talisoara To Viscri

Following a medieval-themed evening and a refreshing breakfast, your journey continues along the Olt River, traversing several charming villages. There are two route options to reach Viscri: one takes a longer, entirely paved route via Varghis village, while the other follows the path via Racos, along the Olt River, on an unpaved road (we recommend having the unpaved road only assisted by a guide). Upon reaching Rupea, you can pause for a quick lunch before proceeding along the route via Dacia to Viscri, a captivating UNESCO World Heritage site.

Viscri, a small settlement in the heart of Transylvania, offers a glimpse into ageless traditions, legends, and the beliefs of its people. Immerse yourself in the local architecture and savor the richness of craftsmanship and cuisine. Explore the local fortified church (UNESCO World Heritage), visit the felt-craft workshop to discover the handcrafting process of felt, or attend a traditional workshop producing bricks and tiles for the local community and historical buildings in the area. Your overnight stay is arranged in Viscri at local traditional guesthouses.

Cycling From Viscri To Cincsor Village Or Similar

Todayโ€™s journey begins as you depart Viscri, heading towards Dacia village along an undulating 15 km paved road to Jibert village. From Jibert, youโ€™ll cross a wild forest hill for 8 km to reach Cobor village. The uphill climb from Jibert to the forest is challenging, and you might find yourself pushing your bike a bit, but the breathtaking scenery makes it worthwhile. Once at the top of the forest, a paved road awaits, leading you all the way to Cobor. In Cobor, youโ€™ll have the opportunity to visit a biodiversity farm featuring horses and cows, where you can enjoy an organic local lunch.

Continuing the gravel trip for another 10 km, the route then transitions to a paved road for the remainder of the dayโ€™s journey. Upon reaching Cincsor, your final destination for the day, accommodation is arranged in the renovated former parish house.

  • Day 5 Cycling From Cincsor To Sighisoara
    • 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

      Cycling From Cincsor To Sighisoara

Todayโ€™s cycling adventure unfolds with a paved route from Cincsor village to the Middle Age fortress of Sighisoara, designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Departing from Cincsor and heading north, your journey takes you through Dealu Frumos village, often referred to as "the Beautiful Hill" and recognized as the geographical center of Romania. Passing through Agnita, youโ€™ll eventually reach Sighisoara.

As you progress, you have the option to have lunch in Agnita or take a 10 km detour to Movile village. Here, you can explore an old fortified church renovation project and enjoy lunch in the village. Upon arrival in Sighisoara, take the time to stroll through the historical city center of the citadel. Sighisoara stands as one of the seven medieval fortified cities, remarkably preserved and still inhabited, earning its place as a UNESCO heritage site. The small yet bohemian citadel is brimming with stories and places, offering a picturesque haven for photographers.

We recommend spending another evening in Sighisoara or taking the train to your next destination.
