Guatemala has a tropical and subtropical climate. The rainy months are between May and October, with the dry season being November to April.

Where does the adventure begin? Will you pick me up at the airport or hotel?

The arrival will be in the city of Antigua at the meeting point mentioned in the itinerary, it is requested to be at 05:00 am at the requested address to start your day. We recommend arriving one day before your experience to avoid any setbacks.

Do I need any specific medical records or vaccination?

Accepted Answer

You will receive a form with the information that the guide needs to know to act on a specific case. This will be requested days before your experience. Currently no vaccination is required to enter Guatemala. We suggest that you check directly with the embassy for all your travel information.

What happens if I get sick or injured during the trip and I cannot go on?

If a situation presents itself, the main thing is that you can communicate with your guide first. They have healing services; in case the client gets sick and cannot continue the trip. But it is always important to have travel insurance in case of an emergency.

Which currency do you recommend bringing?

Accepted Answer

The currency used in Guatemala is the Quetzal. We recommend that you change to the local currency before arriving in the country. It is also possible to change in some exchange offices, airport and ATMs when you arrive in the country. Not all stores accept international credit and debit cards, so it is recommended to have some cash on hand.

Flights, travel insurance, meals not mentioned in the itinerary, drinks, tips, other personal expenses.  Airport tax from Flores to Guatemala, cost approximately Q20 (3 USD)

If in the afternoons after the activities for this experience there will be different moments for you to enjoy free time during the programmed activities, this will depend on each day.

On average, lunches and dinners are between $10 and $15 per meal. For the total experience, it will be approximately $60 USD.

Lanquín: El Retiro or similar. For this experience we manage eco-hotels with cabins and/or bungalows.

What happens if I’m traveling by myself? Is it possible?

Of course, you can travel alone, but you must add the mandatory individual supplement. If you do not want to pay the extra you must select some of the following start dates during 2021: March 29th and July 26th. If you assign these dates without adding the supplement, you accept that you will share a mixed room with 1 or 2 other travelers that you will meet upon arrival

What is the minimum age required? Is the price the same for underaged?

Minimum age is 06 years old. Minors must always be accompanied by an adult. No different price is handled for minors, they pay normal price.

For this experience, the departure and return is in Antigua. You can add nights of accommodation for your experience in this city, this can be checked in the "Extras" section.

Arrival will be at the meeting point on 5th Avenue and 6th Street, Antigua, Guatemala at 05:00 hrs. So, we recommend being one day earlier to be on time the day of departure.

For the last day you will be back approximately between 15:00 and 16:00 hrs. in Antigua or the City.

We recommend a complete travel insurance that covers any eventuality such as delay or cancellation of flights, it is also suggested to cover major medical expenses for any type of emergency.

What clothes and/or gear should I take with me?

Hiking shoes, water shoes, daypack with rain cover, hiking and caving clothes, clothes for the night in the hotel, rain jacket (from May to October), personal hygiene items and/or medicine, camera, hat, sunglasses and sunscreen, a 1L bottle of water. As it is a tropical place, it is recommended to bring comfortable beach clothes.

It is recommended that you bring a 55L backpack or a suitcase appropriate to the amount of clothing and equipment you will be using.

It is necessary to check directly with your country&#x27;s embassy to confirm if there are any visa requirements. This will depend on your nationality; some nationalities do require a visa to enter Guatemala.
