      (Friday) Individual arrival. In the afternoon, you will meet the tour guide at the hotel, who will be happy to answer any questions and provide tips and advice. 2 nights at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Fishermanโ€™s Wharf (middle class).

      Day 2: San Francisco

      (Saturday) San Francisco raises high expectations among its many visitors; the Golden Gate Bridge, Twin Peaks and Fishermanโ€™s Wharf are known the world over. A city tour will give you an overview of the most important sights. For the afternoon, we recommend an (optional) excursion by bus and drive to Sausalito, a town directly on San Francisco Bay. From a small hill you have a great view of the bay. (Breakfast).

      Day 3: San Francisco - Arroyo Grande

      (Sunday) Monterey is located on a peninsula at the end of Monterey Bay. During your visit today you will also see Cannery Row, made famous by the novel by Nobel Prize-winning author John Steinbeck, "Street of the Olsardines". You will then continue through the interior of the country to Arroyo Grande. One night at the Best Western Casa Grande Inn (middle class). Approx. 395 km (breakfast).

      (Monday) You continue south to Santa Barbara, a charming little coastal town with a multicultural mix of Mexican, American and European flair. You will then reach the mega-metropolis of Los Angeles, where an (optional) evening tour will give you an initial overview. 2 nights at the Four Points by Sheraton L.A. Westside (middle class).       Day 5: Los Angeles

      (Tuesday) A city tour is on the program today in the morning. Among other things, you will see Hollywood with the Walk of Fame, the Chinese Theatre, which opened in 1927 and still serves as a premiere cinema today, and downtown with its skyscrapers that dominate the skyline of the mega-metropolis. In the afternoon, an (optional) visit to one of the worldโ€™s most famous museums is possible. In the J. Paul Getty Museum, the billionaire has collected around 50,000 works of art and made them accessible to the public. The Central Garden forms the heart of the museum and is home to 500 different plants. Wander through the gardens and enjoy the interplay of colors and scents. On a clear day you can enjoy the view of the Pacific Ocean, the Santa Monica Mountains and the Los Angeles lowlands. (Breakfast).

      (Wednesday) Drive through the Coachella Valley to Phoenix. In the afternoon you will get to know the cactus world of the Sonora Desert. An (optional) western dinner rounds off your day. One night at the Hotel Hyatt Place Scottsdale (middle class). Approx. 600 km (breakfast).

      Day 7: Sedona - Grand Canyon National Park

      (Thursday) Todayโ€™s route takes you through the Arizona desert via the Black Canyon Highway to Sedona, a charming little art town. Continue through Oak Creek Canyon before reaching the Grand Canyon, the incredible sight of which is difficult to put into pictures or words. The mighty canyon, carved into the rock by the Colorado River, is up to 1.6 km deep, 450 km long and up to 30 km wide. Given these dimensions, a sightseeing flight in a helicopter is an obvious choice (optional). One night in the Grand Canyon Plaza Hotel (middle class). Approx. 480 km (breakfast).

      (Friday) The next highlight of your trip awaits you: the magnificent Monument Valley, which is not a valley in the strict sense of the word, but rather a steppe-like expanse of land studded with huge sandstone formations. The breathtaking play of colors of the monoliths, which varies depending on the position of the sun, has already been effectively staged by numerous Hollywood directors. You have the opportunity to take photos of the impressive landscape at the visitor center. A drive guided by indigenous Navajo through the western landscape brings the monoliths close enough to touch (optional). Continue to Page near Lake Powell. One night at the Hotel Best Western Plus at Lake Powell (middle class). Approx. 525 km (breakfast).

      (Saturday) Through the south of the Mormon state of Utah, you will reach Bryce Canyon with its sculpture-like and colorful rock formations. Here you will have time to explore some of the national parkโ€™s hiking trails. One night in the Bryce View Lodge (optional). Approx. 295 km (breakfast).

      Day 10: Bryce Canyon National Park - Las Vegas

      (Sunday) Todayโ€™s destination is the glitz and glamor metropolis of Las Vegas. Afternoon arrival and (optional) visit to the most beautiful casinos and attractions. Your tour guide will introduce you to a selection of the most famous casinos and, with a bit of luck, you will be able to see the water fountains at the Bellagio. You will also experience the impressive Fremont Street Experience light show in the old city center downtown. 2 nights at The Strat Hotel (middle class). Approx. 500 km (breakfast).

  • Day 11 Day 11: Las Vegas

      (Monday) The day is at leisure. Relax by the pool, explore the Strip on your own or try to top up your travel money in the casinos. Your tour guide will offer you various optional excursions, such as a visit to one of the famous Las Vegas shows (subject to availability) or a helicopter flight over the Strip. This is particularly impressive at night. (Breakfast).

      Day 12: Death Valley National Park - Mammoth Lakes/Tulare

      (Tuesday) Drive through the Valley of Death (weather/temperature dependent), the lowest and driest place in North America. Continue to Mammoth Lakes (from approx. mid-June to early October) or through the fertile San Joaquin Valley to Tulare. One night in the High Sierra Hotel (mid-range) or in the Hillstone Inn (purpose-built). Approx. 550/750 km. (breakfast).

  • Day 13 Day 13: Yosemite National Park - Modesto

      Day 13: Yosemite National Park - Modesto

      (Wednesday) Today your journey takes you to Yosemite National Park. The central starting point here is the glacier-carved Yosemite Valley, a beautiful mountain valley surrounded by 1,000 m high, almost vertical rock faces. Continue to Modesto. One night at the Ramada by Wyndham Hotel (purpose-built). Approx. 320/480 km (breakfast).

      (Thursday) Drive to San Francisco. There will be a stop in the city center to drop off guests who have booked an individual extension and another stop at San Francisco International Airport at around 11 a.m. for guests taking their return flight.
